About me

I'm a researcher primarily interested in applying Reinforcement Learning, Control Theory, and Motion Planning to physical systems — particularly high-speed autonomous ones like racing, emergency response, and off-road mobility.

I competed in Track & Field for over a decade, including serving as team captain at USC, where the team won NCAA indoor and outdoor team titles in 2025. The sport shaped how I approach my work: consistency, resilience, and performing under pressure aren't just athletic habits, they're engineering ones too.

Beyond the Lab

Not everything about me fits neatly into a CV.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Avid runner: ran 14+ miles a day through most of college and still get out a few times a week when I can.
  • Fragrance enthusiast. Current favorites:
    • Y Elixir — Yves Saint Laurent
    • Zest + Vetiver — Michael Malul
    • Opus XVI Timber — Amouage
